HAIR: Black, takes after his black genes. It’s curly and subject to humidity. He shaved it for the first year of his teacher to act professional but now he alternates between keeping it at three inches in length, and bald.

OVERALL APPEARANCE:
Jerald is half black, half white. He has a long face and a sharp chin. His cheekbones are high and well defined making him somewhat gaunt. His whole body is muscular yet sharply angled. He has a swimmers build. He has strong stomach muscles from horse riding, but his arms are most in shape. He has strong arms because of how often he swings heavy swords, and holds ten-foot long lances. This means that he often looks a little top heavy and stringy legged.
His eyebrows are arched and his black eyes are stark and can be daunting. He has a cold stare, you wouldn’t want to skip your home work in his class because he might give you a look, and then you’d become a deer in the headlights. Start him on a good subject though, Sumaria, Kaida, Russian folklore, hell boy, and his eyes light up and crease with joy.
His hair alternates between shaved to about three inches in length. He’s never died his hair but back when he was younger he would do everything else to it; Mohawks, fohawks, swear words, the fade, dreadlocks, even cornrows. He keeps talking about going back to the fade, no one knows if he’s joking or not.
He tends to wear sweaters in the morning, but switches to a plane white tee after his swim at lunch. He has a cool cut look, lots of blacks, blues, and tones of gray. He does how ever touch up his outfit with color, almost always green. He always wears his green saddle shoes; some times he has a green belt, a green bandana, a green-strapped watch, or green scarf. His swim trunks are green, and plain.

- loss of family: He lost his brother when he was fifteen, he lost his Nanny and his family when he left his home town, he fell out of love with his ex-wife. The only family he has left is just two and a half years old.
- messes: Jerald isn’t obsessive compulsive but if there’s one thing he does obsess over it’s cleaning. If he sees some one’s label sticking out he has to push it in, if there’s a picture frame tilting he straitens it. It’s more of a flaw than a fear but he can become over whelmed and then he panics about it.
- his past catching up to him: Jerald wasn’t always a model citizen. When he was a teenager crime was a way of life for most island boys. He did a lot of bad things to a lot of people, and if anyone finds him he could risk loosing his job, his family, or his life.

OVERALL PERSONALITY:
Jerald seems to have a touch of aspergers. He doesn’t follow social cues well and he doesn’t very often say the right thing. At the same times it could just be that he likes to be mean. He’s one of the harsher teachers. While he doesn’t rely heavily on book teacher his lectures (while lively) can eat up entire class periods. He often picks on kids, and gives them names depending on rumors going around about them.
While he acts like an ass around his pupils and colleges he is a completely different person around his daughter, Kaida. She’s two and a half years old and is frequently brought into school with Jerald (He doesn’t trust their nanny that well)

HISTORY:
Jerald is almost completely vague when it comes to his past. These are the facts He was born on Saint Lucia, in the Virgin Islands. He never knew his mother and was closer to his half brother Denis than to his father. His father was a busy man, he owns a famous resort on the islands. Jerald’s life was privileged and he talked about going to a lot of parties. Some of the parties were at clubs; some were black tie affairs in the dance hall of his father’s hotel. He appeared in Vermont in the late nineties. He divorced his wife after the birth of his daughter.
He graduated from the university of New York with masters in Global History, that was in 2005. He wants to take classes on folklore but doesn’t have the time or the money. He also wants to travel the world but that’s not going to happen for a while. He gets paid a teachers salary, and even though it’s a private school he still lives in the same apartments most of the kids live in. He loves his job, but he worries about the way he can raise his daughter on such a low salary, being her only source of income.
After he started college he discovered renaissance fairs. He goes to at least one every two weeks. Since he was in college he’s been taking classes in lancing and sword fighting, even a little archery. He’s a semiprofessional knight and he does demonstrations at the fairs he goes to. As a matter of fact he’s been trying to organize a field trip to a renaissance fair since he started working- but he’s been shot down every time, due to the many historical inaccuracies of the events.
After graduating and getting his masters Jerald gave a shot at getting the job that his wife promised him at her father’s company. He was shot down immediately. Not knowing where to go from there Jerald was fired from being a museum curator, or even so much as a museum janitor. It seemed he had no work experience, which was preventing him from getting a job. He jumped from working at Jamba Juice, Walgreen’s, and KFC but was fired every time for having a bad attitude towards the job. As a matter of fact, Welton is his first professional job.

ROLE-PLAY SAMPLE:
“Honey, I’m home” Jerald called from the bedroom as his wife stepped in threw the front door. This was naturally a sad joke, considering he had been unemployed for several months. His wife how ever had a high corporate job and always came home angry and stressed. He winced as he heard her slam the door, the hanging light above him shook, and the mobile on Kaida’s crib fell of it’s clip and onto the floor.
He didn’t know why he pushed her buttons like that, maybe it’s because it used to make her laugh. Maybe it was because they both knew it was over, and he was growing bitter of her high horse. So she had a job, she didn’t look after the baby. She didn’t even look at the baby. “How’s the baby?” his wife asked. Jerald’s thoughts flew away from him quickly and he looked up at her from the bed. He pointed to the bottom of the bed where Kaida was laying. She was staring up at the car posters tacked onto the ceiling.
“she’s like hypnotized or something, she’s not crying anyway” Jerald said turning back to the book in his lap. With out moving his head his eyes followed his wife’s movements. She picked Kaida up, and bounced her in her arms. Jerald’s eyes narrowed, his black eyes went piercing cold “could you put her down again” he said suddenly. His ex-wife laughed and replied to his stair with a confused glance “why?” she asked
“she’s got bruises on her arms, I’m not comfortable with you holding her” Jerald grinded the words out of his suddenly bared teeth. His ex-wife froze
“she wouldn’t stop crying” she tried to explain, in a horse and humbled voice.
